BADIL announces the launch of a global opinion poll exploring the perspectives, priorities and visions of Palestinian youth regarding the future of the Palestinian National Project.
This opinion poll aims to create one of the largest platforms documenting the perspectives of Palestinian youth worldwide. It seeks to understand how young Palestinians define their aspirations, challenges and visions for the future, while ensuring that their voices contribute to advocacy, public engagement, policy discussions and international conversations.
The poll is open to Palestinians aged 18–35 years old, wherever they live - across Palestine, refugee communities and the global Shatat (exile). It is available in English, Arabic, Spanish and German.
For more than a century, the Palestinian people have lived under systems of colonial domination, displacement and apartheid. Generation after generation has witnessed attempts to control Palestinian land, fragment Palestinian society and shape the future of the Palestinian people without their participation. Yet Palestinian history has always been defined by resistance, and the continued struggle to shape a collective future.
At a time of profound political uncertainty - including the future of Gaza, ongoing debates over Palestinian representation and the upcoming Palestinian Legislative Elections, and discussions surrounding the future direction of the Palestinian national project - the voices of Palestinian youth are more important than ever.
The future of Palestine cannot be determined through closed political processes, foreign capitals or decisions made without the participation of those whose lives are directly affected. It must be shaped through the experiences, priorities and visions of the Palestinian people themselves.
Across Palestine and the global Palestinian community, young Palestinians are confronting urgent questions:
- What does the Palestinian National Project mean today?
- What political, social and community priorities should guide its future?
- How can Palestinians pursue justice, dignity and liberation in the face of ongoing systems of domination?
- How can a new generation contribute to renewing Palestinian collective action and shaping political futurities?
This initiative is more than a questionnaire. It is an effort to build a collective record of a generation experiencing a historic moment and seeking to shape a different future. By documenting the perspectives of Palestinian youth, the research will contribute to ensuring that future discussions about Palestine are informed by the voices of those who will inherit and continue to shape its future.
Palestinian youth are invited to participate and share their perspectives.
