BADIL Concludes the 3rd Awda School Training of 2026

(Bethehem, 18 September 2026)

BADIL/Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights concluded the third and final session of its 2026 Al-Awda School Training Program, held over three consecutive days (11–13 September 2026), with the participation of 23 Palestinian youth (10 females, 13 males) from various areas of mandatory Palestine. With this, BADIL concludes its 2026 Al-Awda school training program.

The program included a series of workshops that built and accumulated on previous sessions, including a discussion on the Israeli position on the Palestinian Right of Return. A workshop entitled “How Do We Return?” also explored participants’ perspectives on the practicalities of return. The program further included a visit to the family of martyr Omar Manna’ in Dheisheh Refugee Camp.

On the second day, participants addressed the topics of elections of the Israeli Knesset and the elections of the Palestinian Legislative Council, as well as the impact of the Oslo Accords on the Palestinian national liberation movement. This was followed by a field visit to the village of Battir in Bethlehem.

The final day featured an in-depth introductory workshop on the Palestinian Youth Forum, facilitated by one of the Forum’s members. Participants were introduced to the Forum and its program, and the initiatives undertaken by the Forum in line with its 2026 plan, alongside skills-based exercises designed to strengthen their ability to deliver individual and group presentations, and presenting short presentations in front of audience.

Al Awda school program is a core component of BADIL’s programs implemented in partnership with its partner civil society organizations. The program aims to strengthen connection among Palestinian youth across mandatory Palestine and enhance their knowledge and skills needed to advocate for the rights of Palestinian people, particularly refugee and displaced persons.

It is note-worthy that participants who graduate from Al Awda Training Schools programs are eligible to become members in the Palestinian Youth Forum, engaging and contributing to its strategic plan for 2027.
