(Bethlehem, 3 August 2026)

Complicity-brochure-enThe brochure provides an accessible overview of the key findings from BADIL’s position paper, The Palestine Solidarity Movement in Europe: State Complicity and Lessons for Transnational Mobilization, examining the growth, achievements, challenges and future direction of Palestine solidarity movements across Europe since October 2023. (also available in English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese and Arabic.)

Since the live-broadcasted genocide in Gaza began, millions of people across Europe and around the world have mobilized through mass demonstrations, student encampments and uprisings, labour actions, legal campaigns, direct action and boycott and divestment efforts. These movements have played a critical role in challenging dominant narratives, exposing European complicity in Israeli colonial crimes, and connecting the struggle for Palestinian liberation with broader movements against colonialism, militarism and racial injustice.

The brochure maps out strategies of action for the solidarity movement, based on the significant achievements of the Palestine solidarity movement and states’complicity. However, it also examines the continued failure of many European states to respond to public demands for accountability.

As Palestine solidarity movements continue to grow, the brochure emphasizes the need to move from awareness-raising towards sustained pressure, material consequences and structural transformation.

The Palestine solidarity movement is not only responding to genocide  -  it is confronting the global systems that enable it.
