As Part of “Resisting the Ongoing Nakba” activities: 11 Community-based Organizations Implement Initiatives Across Palestine and Lebanon

(Bethlehem, 16 May 2026)

Eleven community-based organizations, in cooperation with the Global Palestinian Refugees and IDPs Network (GPRN) and BADIL - Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights, implemented a series of community initiatives across several Palestinian refugee camps in Palestine and Lebanon.

These initiatives were organized as part of the Ongoing Nakba Resistance activities, held annually by BADIL and the GPRN. The activities aim to strengthen the resilience and resistance of the Palestinian people wherever they are, amid the Israeli ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip and its escalating campaign to dismantle Palestinian refugee camps, undermine UNRWA, and eliminate the Palestinian refugee cause.

Each participating organization designed and implemented a program of activities that reflected its area of work, engaging both refugee camp residents and its target groups of children, adolescents, and youth. Throughout the week, the partner organizations organized workshops and community activities aimed at reinforcing Palestinian collective identity, alongside cultural and artistic performances and film screenings. Several organizations also lit the Torch of Return, reaffirming Palestinian refugees’ unwavering commitment to their right of return to their original homes, despite the continued efforts of the Zionist colonial regime to dispossess and erase the Palestinian people.
