On 10 September, during the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, BADIL Resource Center submitted its oral intervention under Item 3, the Interactive Dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on truth, justice, reparation and guarantees of non-repetition, stressing the Palestinian people’s right to reparation.
The statement re-affirmed that the Israeli regime owes reparations to the Palestinian people, for over 77 years of ongoing Nakba and the genocide in the Gaza Strip. It stressed that reconstruction must occur within a reparative framework that ensures the Israeli regime is held legally and financially accountable for its genocide and numerous international crimes in the Gaza Strip.
