BADIL Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights and members of the Palestinian Youth Forum (PYF) held an intensive training session, 22-24 August 2025, to enhance members' knowledge and skills. The session was attended by 24 youth participants (11 females, 13 males).
The training session included a series of political, cultural, and social workshops, in addition to skills training and field visits over three consecutive days. The workshops focused on the current situation in light of the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip, the campaign to dismantle Palestinian refugee camps and repression in the West Bank and 1948 Palestine. Discussions were also held on how to confront colonialism and the tools used during the First Intifada (1987), and the Algerian struggle as a model of global liberation against colonialism.
To shed light on social issues in Palestinian society within a colonial context, PYF members discussed the concept of "freedom" from philosophical, political, and social perspectives, followed by a session that highlighted the patriarchal social system.
Moreover, there was a field visit to Tulkarm in partnership with Al Awda Center, during which PYF members met with a group of displaced women from Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps. The PYF witnessed the destruction of the camps due to ongoing Israeli invasions and siege since January 2025. They also visited the "Roots of the Sun" cooperative in the Shuweika suburb, with the aim of coordinating joint community initiatives in the upcoming months.
The Palestinian Youth Forum is an independent youth platform, with 34 members from different areas in Mandatory Palestine, guided by BADIL. The PYF seeks to utilize the skills and knowledge acquired by participants in previous Al Awda Training Schools and translate them into targeted community initiatives and advocacy activities to strengthen the Palestinian people's resistance and raise awareness of the policies of the Israeli colonial-apartheid regime.
