In cooperation with the Global Palestinian Refugee and Internally Displaced Persons Network (GPRN) and BADIL Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights, 18 partner organizations implemented community-based initiatives in refugee camps across the West Bank and Lebanon.
These initiatives are part of the annual Ongoing Nakba Resistance Campaign organized by BADIL in partnership with GPRN, aiming to strengthen the resilience and resistance of Palestinians, particularly refugees. This year’s campaign coincides with the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip and the intensifying Israeli suppression campaign on refugee camps in the northern West Bank, seeking to dismantle refugee camps and forcibly displace their residents.
The participating organizations carried out a series of activities targeting primarily refugee children and youth, focusing on strengthening the Palestinian national identity. Activities included traditional dabka performances, art and theater workshops reflecting the Nakba and the Palestinian culture, political and cultural seminars on the genocide and the ongoing Nakba, scout marches, and heritage events involving refugees of all ages.
The activities also included psychosocial relief activities, sports tournaments, a film screening documenting Palestinian history, and educational contests on depopulated Palestinian villages. In addition, BADIL’s t-shirts, posters, and postcards carrying the slogan "Resisting the Ongoing Nakba" were distributed. These initiatives served as a collective expression of resistance to forced displacement and affirmed the Nakba as an ongoing crime, while rejecting past and present attempts to erase the Palestinian refugee cause.
