BADIL’s Oral Interventions in UNHRC 58: States’ Ongoing Failure to fulfill their Obligations

Throughout the UN Human Rights Council’s 58th regular session, BADIL Resource Center continued to highlight that the failure of states to fulfill their obligations to protect and impose sanctions on the Israeli colonial-apartheid regime constitutes complicity and enables the continuation and escalation of Israeli crimes and atrocities.

Under Item #7, BADIL’s oral intervention called on the UN and member states to move beyond condemnation to enforcement, through the imposition of military, economic and political sanctions against the Israeli regime to ensure the fulfillment of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, to end Israeli international crimes, as well as the ongoing genocide, begin the process of decolonization and uphold the principles of international law.

Under Item #9, BADIL’s oral intervention highlighted the escalation of the Israeli policy of segregation, fragmentation and isolation - a component of apartheid – in the West Bank.
