BADIL launches new documentary film on Green Line village

BADIL's Ongoing Nakba Education Center (www.ongoingnakba.org) launched its latest documentary film 'Villagers on the Line' with two public events in the Bethlehem area. Through the eyes of its villagers, the film looks into the struggles of the Jerusalem village of Battir which is bisected by the Green Line.

In cooperation with BADIL, the Alternative Information Center (AIC) in Beit Sahour hosted a public launch of the film on Saturday December 1st. The film was presented by BADIL's ONEC staff and followed by an in-depth presentation by activists from Battir. Following the presentation, BADIL and the activists answered a variety of questions from the assembled audience that included both Palestinian and international activists.

In order to further developed relationships and understanding of the situation in the village, BADIL implemented a public tour to Battir the following day which was again attended by various different activists who met with villagers and deepened their understanding of the situation on the ground and the villagers ongoing struggle against Israel's colonial project.

'Villagers on the Line' can be viewed online, along with a documentary style photographic story about Battir, within the Ongoing Nakba Education Center's participatory multi-media website on the following link: https://vimeo.com/79099325
