In response to the call for input from UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food, focusing on human rights and starvation, with an emphasis on the Palestinian people’s food sovereignty, BADIL Resource Center submitted a report titled “The Israeli Weaponization of Humanitarian Aid Amidst Genocide.”

In this report, BADIL clarifies that the unprecedented humanitarian crisis resulting from Israel's genocide on the Gaza Strip, coupled with its ongoing campaign to dismantle UNRWA is an act of genocide designed to induce starvation and slow death.

Identifying how Israel has used starvation as a "method of war” throughout its genocide, BADIL provided recommendations on institutional reforms that can be introduced to liberate UN and international agencies, most importantly UNRWA, from political manipulation and agendas especially in times of wars.
