Press Releases

BADIL submitted one written and one oral statement for the 49th regular session of the UNHRC, which took place from 28 February – 1 April 2022. Both statements urged the UN and its member states to end international impunity for the crimes of forcible transfer,[1] annexation,[2] and policies and practices that amount to colonization and apartheid.[3]
The written statement, submitted under Item #2 in response the High Commissioners annual report, focused on the lack of accountability for Israeli human rights violations and international crimes. The oral statement, submitted under Item #7 (Human Rights Situation in Palestine), also focused on upholding Palestinian rights through practical measures and accountability for Israel.
