BADIL’s participation in the 24th Human Rights Council Session

27.09.2013. The 24th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council commenced between 9 and 27 September 2013. BADIL actively participated in the event, submitting two joint written statements: one onIsrael’scontinuous denial of the Palestinian right of return; the other on aaccountability with regard to the occupied Palestinian territory.

In addition, BADIL submitted two oral statements: one on the equal treatment for all refugees fleeing from the current hostilities in Syria; the other on Israel’s repeated noncompliance with international law.

Moreover, on 23 September, BADIL organized a side event on Israel’s non-compliance with the UN Human Rights Council. The event was an opportunity toengage with various stakeholders as well as participants of official delegations, in addition to members of international civil society.

The recent Human Rights Council session was an important opportunity for BADIL to promote its 2013 advocacy strategy, and to uphold the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. BADIL focused on illustrating Israel’s ongoing non-compliance with UN mechanisms and in particular the UN Human Rights Council.

23 Sep 2013: BADIL organized a side event on Israel’s non-compliance with the UN Human Rights Council
