On 15 March, BADIL Resource Center, through its ongoing participation in the United Nations Human Rights Council Session #55, submitted its oral statement under Item 4: General Debate on the promotion and protection of all human rights.

The statement emphasized the ever-expanding protection gap facing all Palestinian refugees but especially those in the Gaza Strip who account for over 81 percent of population there. Not only are Palestinians in the Gaza Strip being forcibly displaced multiple times but they are also being denied the most minimum form of international protection: humanitarian aid.

BADIL called on States to enforce a ceasefire and support and enable UNRWA’s work, especially in the Gaza Strip.
