Establishment of a Research and Study Network on Palestinian Refugees

2 July 2012. BADIL participated in the workshop “Researches on Palestinian Refugees: Needs and Priorities” organized by the Issam Fares Institute – AUB, in cooperation with Al Quds Center for Political Studies that took place in Amman, 29-30 June. Seven organizations and five professional researchers presented their work relevant to Palestinian refugees and discussed the needs and priorities of researches that should be addressed and conducted. It was agreed to establish a network aiming at developing the mechanisms of cooperation and collaboration among its members to promote the means and tools of influencing duty bears and stakeholders. Members emphasized the necessity to coordinate their work based on a complementary strategy/principle without prejudice of each organization’s specialty; that is to exchange information and expertise in order to build upon and complement each others work. It was agreed to enhance the capability to initiate and produce joint research studies handling contemporary challenges facing all Palestinian refugees and/or country/individual community-based challenges (those facing Palestinian refugees in specific hosting state/community/group). In addition to the regular communication agreed upon, members decided to meet annually.
