The village of al-Lajjun in the Jenin district was attacked, occupied and entirely ethnically cleansed in late-May 1948. Today, amongst the pine trees and rolling hills, a few semi-intact buildings and the remains of others can still be found, along with cacti that were planted in al-Lajjun as in other Palestinian villages, to mark boundaries and provide fruit.
