Rule of law, community participation, and best practice are three major components for a successful peace process. Since 2002 BADIL has organized annual fact-finding visits for Palestinian refugee activists to countries repairing the damage of conflict. Fact-finding visits provide on-the-ground learning opportunities to witness how return and housing and property restitution are implemented in other refugee cases. What was done? How was it done? What worked? What did not work and why? Visits include meetings with international agencies, national and local governmental officials, non-governmental organizations, and refugees themselves.
The study visit to Serbia-Kosovo took place from 15-22 October 2009, and was organized in conjunction with Zochrot and Grupa 484.
